In this O.G. Spotlight, we revisit one of Bruno Mars' more underrated bangers. This track is about a woman who stole his money. Natalie, from his second album Unorthodox Jukebox, did not get released as a single. Although it was buried in the tracklist, it has the feel of an overlooked rock classic.

Newer Mars albums, 24k Magic, and An Evening with Silk Sonic are fun but not my vibe. However, I stumbled on Natalie on Spotify and cannot stop playing it. There is something quirky about the lyrics and storytelling that make me miss the old Bruno. The Unorthodox Jukebox was full of rock, reggae, disco, and soulful goodness.

“ Natalie, she ran away with all my money
And she did it for fun
Natalie, she's probably out there thinkin' it's funny
Tellin' everyone
Well, I'm diggin' a ditch for this gold diggin' bitch
Watch out, she's quick
Look out for a pretty little thing named
Natalie, if you see her tell her I'm coming
She better run
The good Lord better bless your soul
'Cause I already cursed your name
Don't matter which way you go
Payback's gonna come your way
You'll be begging me, please, please, please
And I'ma look at you and laugh, laugh, laugh
While you sit there and cry for me
Cry for me, cry for me all night..”
